The location near Yubatake is a huge plus. Easy access to town through a hidden entry is very handy. The onsen options available were fantastic. having multiple indoor and outdoor baths was a big draw for me. I booked half board, and the buffet exceeded my expectations. Tons of choices meant I could indulge without the typical struggle of asking the staff for alternatives, especially since I don't enjoy fish. I appreciated the delicious food with plenty of variety. However, I did find out the rock pool onsen was closed during my stay, which was a letdown. The walk from the bus terminal posed a bit of a challenge with my large suitcase due to hills and steps, so keep that in mind. Also, parking was not directly in front of the hotel, adding a minor inconvenience. Overall, the staff was welcoming, and their basic English was adequate for communication, which made me feel comfortable.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, perfect for my stay. Both breakfast and dinner had a fantastic buffet with a variety of delicious options. I loved the public onsens. soaking there was such a relaxing experience!

The elevator could be slow at times.

The onsens feature highly acidic water that many enthusiasts might appreciate for its unique qualities. The sashimi and tempura offered during meals stand out as the fresher, less processed options.

Old, dirty staircases and elevators throughout all buildings cast a shadow over the experience. The Japanese Standard A room faced the elevator, making it hard to sleep at night due to noise. Additionally, there's an inconvenience with limiting onsen use from 9:30 AM to 3 PM, and the food served tends to lean towards being either overly sweet or salty, detracting from the overall culinary experience.

The buffet was one of my favorite parts of the stay! From fresh sashimi to perfectly prepared tempura, every meal was a culinary delight. Plus, the spacious room gave me a great view of Kusatsu, really making it special.

While the onsen had its perks, the water was super acidic, which left my skin peeling—ouch! Not the best spot for solo travelers, as it felt more geared towards families. Also, waiting for the elevator can feel slower than watching paint dry, especially when just trying to grab breakfast.

The room I booked was really spacious, clean, and modern, and the buffet breakfast and dinner had so many interesting options that tasted both delicious and authentic. I loved soaking in the public onsen and trying out the open-air bath during my stay, which felt incredibly relaxing. One minor downside was a bit of dust in the stairwells, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. 😊

I stayed in the Japanese Deluxe Twin room for 3 nights. The room was spacious and comfortable, giving me plenty of room to relax after exploring. The cleanliness was on point, and I really appreciated the view of Kusatsu from my window. The tatami mats were a unique touch, but I found the beds a bit firm for my taste. Still, the overall vibe was cozy, especially after a long day out. The bathrooms were decent but could have had a little more modern touch. Totally enjoyed my stay!

i recently stayed at kamenoi hotel kusatsu yubatake and it exceeded my expectations during this city break. the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the variety of food during breakfast and dinner was fantastic. being so close to the yubatake hot spring was a big plus and really made the experience special.

the elevator doors closed too quickly.
